Dispatch Ceremony for Overseas Volunteers

On December 22, the dispatch ceremony for overseas volunteers was held in the audio-visual room in Hengso Museum. The ceremony was composed of three parts. The first and third parts had special lectures, while the second part consisted of the dispatch ceremony for the volunteers.

The theme of the first part was 'attitude as an overseas volunteer'. During the dispatching ceremony, everyone prayed for the volunteers to come back to Korea safely, and the volunteers took an oath to carry out their duties to the best of their ability. Finally, a lecture on leadership and getting a job took place.

About 102 students participated in the 2010 winter overseas volunteers program. They will go to Myanmar, Laos, and Cambodia. The Myanmar team will leave Korea on December, 28, the Cambodia team will leave on December, 30 and then the Laos team will leave on January, 12 in 2011. They will conduct volunteer work, repair buildings, and do various performances related to Korean culture for 13 days.
