Shinhanchop in Dongsan Library Registered as a National Treasure


On January 4, Shinhanchop, which is the Korean Classics Room in Keimyung University Dongsan Library, was registered as a national treasure. Shinhanchop is a book of letters in Korea written by Joseon Dynasty Kings: Hyojong, Hyeonjong, Sukjong, and queens Inseon, Myeongseong, Inhyeon wrote the letters to Hyojong’s Princess Sukhwi.

The staff in the Korean Classics Room said, "This book of letters includes many of the kings’ messages inquiring after their family’s health. We can learn from Shinhanchop about women’s lives in the Joseon Dynasty’s royal families. In addition, Shinhanchop is a very important data in that it shows kings and queens' Korean handwriting."

Currently, Keimyung’s Dongsan Library has twelve classes with twenty-one books considered to be national.
