Official Use of Bicycles

Keimyung University was selected as a model school using bicycles within the campus by the Ministry of Public Administration and Security (MOPAS). As a result, Keimyung University plans to construct a system which enables students to lend bicycles free of charge using 200 million won of government funding money and donated bicycles in two years.

Moreover, the present number of 17 bicycle racks is to be increased to 49, which means 30 more racks will be added to the campus from next year.

In addition to Keimyung, seven other universities: Konkuk, Kwangju Women’s, Pukyong National, Kaist and Hanyang were chosen as the first model schools using bicycles on campus among 316 universities in the nation, and nine more other universities will be chosen in 2011.
