The 47th General Student Council Election



The 47th General Student Council (GSC) and the 26th General Women’s Council (GWC) elections were held on November 19. The ballots were cast from 8 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the polling place in each college. The elections progressed with the votes for and against each GSC and GWC candidate.

The ballot counting took place in the Audio-visual room on the 4th floor of the 1st Student Union Building from 11:48 p.m. Kim Yoo-jae (junior, Department of American Studies) and Lee Kwang-min (junior, Department of Urban Engineering) were elected as GSC president and GSC vice-president respectively, gaining 6,721 votes among the total 8,168 ballots cast, while Cho Jeong-hyeon (sophomore, Department of Advanced Materials Engineering) was elected as GWC president by receiving 3,194 votes among the total 3,974 ballots cast.

Keimyung University Hosts International Fashion Show Celebrating 125th Anniversary On October 30th, the Department of Fashion Design hosted the International Fashion Show Celebrating Keimyung University’s 125th Anniversary at a special stage in front of the main building on Daemyung Campus. The event featured participation from prestigious fashion institutions, including Donghua University in China, Maranatha Christian University in Indonesia, Ueda College of Fashion in Japan, and the National Institute of Art and Design in Uzbekistan. Under the theme, “Arc,” symbolizing growth and vision, the Fashion Show showcased 94 outfits created by Keimyung University’s Fashion Design
French Exchange Students Cultural Adventure in Daegu On November 8th, 2024, 77 French exchange and study-abroad students participated in a unique cultural excursion in Daegu, sponsored by the DGIEA Korean-Italian Association. The day’s itinerary included a visit to Gunparkrugi Theme Park, an engaging persimmon-picking experience at Songgeum Green Rural Village, and a thrilling rail bike ride. The event provided the students with a meaningful opportunity to immerse themselves in Korea’s cultural and rural heritage while enjoying memorable outdoor activities.

Many Gen-Zs would respond with Korean Idol groups or celebrities due to their connection with K-music, K-dramas, and K-movies. Alongside the rise in popularity of K-pop and K-dramas, many individuals have become extremely interested in Korean food recently. Kimchi, for example, has been a trending food in media across nations.  Have you ever tried a delicious side dish called kimchi? Kimchi can be a main dish or a side dish. or even a condiment in Korean cuisine. Kimchi is a traditional ‘banchan,’ meaning side dish in Korean, which i
