Successful 2010 Applications

On September 15, Keimyung University closed student applications with a final competition rate of 5.4 to 1, compared with last year’s 4.61 to 1. 400 students out of 965 who applied through the Admissions Officer System received conditional offers of places.

The highest competition rates were 22.4 to 1 in the School of Medicine’s Pre-medical Course, 16.92 to 1 in the Department of Early Childhood Education, and 9.64 to 1 in the Department of English Education. Other departments with high competition rates were the Departments of Piano, Nursing, Food Science and Nutrition, Social Welfare, and Police Administration.

Kang Mun-sik, the dean of admissions, said, “The high competition rate this time is due to the efforts of everyone in Keimyung. Keimyung got name recognition from scholarship systems like Bisa Scholar. A variety of international programs and active public relations activities such as Keimyung representatives visiting high schools to explain entrance requirements increased the recognition rate of Keimyung University.”
