HRD Center Opening Ceremony

On June 12, Keimyung University was selected as an HRD (Human Resource Development) supporting university for fostering regional industries along with Kyungpook National University. On August 28, in front of the College of Engineering, the HRD center opening ceremony was held. About one hundred people participated, and the center concluded MOUs (Memorandums of Understanding) with five medical enterprises.

The center is expected to conclude agreements with more than fifty enterprises within the year. By doing so, the center plans to support R&D technology, develop medical equipment, and foster professional medical personnel.

The center’s main activity is related to building a high-tech medical-industrial center with 560 billion won in public funding by 2038. The center hopes to combine the IT and medical equipment industries to develop high-tech medical equipment and human resources.

Nam Jae-yeal, a professor in the Development of Computer Science and the center director, said, "Along with the Sinseo complex in Daegu, the center will support joint research along with other medical equipment companies, clinical trials, and the fostering of professional human resources for IT-medical equipment industries."
