His father, Michael Joseph Jackson, was the guitarist in the band The Falcons. Through his father’s music training, Michael made his debut through the group The Jackson 5. This group was made of Jackson’s brothers. Even though they were young, their musical abilities were excellent and they soon got into public favor.

After the success of the group, Michael made his debut as a soloist. His album Off the Wall made a new record by selling about 2 million albums. Moreover, he won a prize, which was the best seller in African-American music, at the American Music Awards. This performance not only got him popularity, but also made him the icon of the century.

In 1993, he was charged with child molestation. Even though he was charged, he was found innocent. Stress made him take pain killers. In addition, he had a disease named vitiligo. In the process of curing the sickness, his skin got pale. Many people assume the disease was from his numerous plastic surgeries.
