Leaders in Water Conservation

Two teams of Keimyung University students won the second and third prizes in the water conservation promotion contest sponsored by the Ministry of Environment, the Korean Association for Advertising and Public Relations, and the Korea Water and Wastewater Works Association.

One team, Suhochunsa, comprised Lee Ji-yeon and Choi Mi-hee (junior, Advertising and Public Relations), Jang Eu-na (senior, Journalism and Mass Communication), and the other team, Manamana, included Kim Youn-hyun and Woo Kyung-duk (senior, Advertising and Public Relations), Kim Sung-kwon (senior, Business Administration), and Yoon Sang-hwi (sophomore, Advertising and Public Relations). They received prize money of three million and one million won respectively and high commendations for their sensible advertising proposals and outstanding ideas in the final presentation evaluation held in the Korea Broadcasting and Advertising Corporation Building in Seoul.

The Suhocunsa team received a high grade for their project entitled “Strategies for Promoting Water Conservation,” in which they addressed why people don’t save water even though they know its importance and suggested ways to overcome this. Manamana emphasized the importance of water by using their own hologram prints, which produce three-dimensional images. Manamana received a high commendation for expressing their subject through the medium of holograms. Lee ji-yeon, the leader of Suhochunsa, said “We want to open people’s eyes to the importance of water. In addition, we want to keep making such promotional materials for public campaigns for endangered animals or air pollution in the future.”
