Keimyung University Selected as HR Development Center


On June 12, Keimyung University was selected as an HRD (Human Resource Development) center for fostering regional industries. It will receive public funding from the Ministry of Education and Science Technology (MEST) to cultivate business talent. MEST selected 19 universities, and Keimyung University and Kyungpook National University were selected among Daegu-Gyeongbuk universities. Keimyung Univeristy will receive 4.56 billion won per year for five years.

Keimyung University will be at the forefront of Daegu-Gyeongbuk advanced medical industries and will attract and retain more creative talents through made-to-order education. In addition, Keimyung University will help to promote Daegu-Gyeongbuk as a high-tech medical industry center. 1000 students from the College of Engineering and the College of Natural Science will participate, and the students are to be divided into many fields such as medical examination by video, mobile health care, body function recovery, and medical device service applications.

Nam Jae-yeal, a professor in the Department of Computer Science and the center director said, “Every participant has a positive attitude toward developing advanced medical technologies, and they will do their best to contribute to the successful development of regional industry and human resources for the next 5 years.”
