Monument Unveiled

On May 15, Keimyung University had an unveiling ceremony in front of Dongsan Library attended by President Synn Il-hi, Keimyung professors, and students. The monument had a special meaning in that it was offered by teachers to students celebrating teacher’s day.

The granite monument is 1.7 meters high and 1.1 meters wide and has a carved inscription which includes an affectionate message offering students teachers’ best wishes and encouraging them. It has significance in that the poem was composed by President Synn.

Kim Yong-il, superintendent of admissions, said, “I don’t think teachers’ day is just a day when students express their thanks toward professors. Professors can also feel thankful to students when they truthfully learn and follow their teachings.” He also added, “I hope that Keimyung students can keep in mind teachers’ affection and continue to study with passion.”
