Ryu Byung-Sun Donates 100 Million Won


On April 15, Ryu Byung Sun, the CEO of Youngdo Velvet, donated 100 million won for Keimyung University students. Mrs. Ryu said, "I just did a small thing for young students. I think students studying in these difficult economic conditions can contribute to our future, and I hope this donation can do much to help in the current situation."

Mrs. Ryu was born in Daegu City in 1940. She has managed Youndo Textiles since 1960 and has succeeded in making local velvet famous as a high level product. She has gained public admiration for her ability and as a female entrepreneur.

Mrs. Ryu donated 50 million won for Keimyung students with potential in 2001 and annually has helped neighbors and offered scholarships to educational institutions. To show its appreciation for her generosity, Keimyung University decided to name this donation the "Youngdo Scholarship Fund."

Keimyung University Hosts International Fashion Show Celebrating 125th Anniversary On October 30th, the Department of Fashion Design hosted the International Fashion Show Celebrating Keimyung University’s 125th Anniversary at a special stage in front of the main building on Daemyung Campus. The event featured participation from prestigious fashion institutions, including Donghua University in China, Maranatha Christian University in Indonesia, Ueda College of Fashion in Japan, and the National Institute of Art and Design in Uzbekistan. Under the theme, “Arc,” symbolizing growth and vision, the Fashion Show showcased 94 outfits created by Keimyung University’s Fashion Design
French Exchange Students Cultural Adventure in Daegu On November 8th, 2024, 77 French exchange and study-abroad students participated in a unique cultural excursion in Daegu, sponsored by the DGIEA Korean-Italian Association. The day’s itinerary included a visit to Gunparkrugi Theme Park, an engaging persimmon-picking experience at Songgeum Green Rural Village, and a thrilling rail bike ride.
