An environment ecology protection campaign was held at Keimyung University. Keimyung ecology committee developed an 'Eco Campus' campaign with 26,000 participants. The aim of the campaign is to help people to understand the importance of the ecological environment and how to practice ecological environment protection on campus. From November 28, this movement is composed of 3 parts: 'Beautiful table,' 'No car day,' and 'Honest exam.'
'Beautiful table' is a campaign for children in developing countries dying of starvation. It was held in a staff and student cafeteria. Staff cafeteria's food ticket cost 4,000 won as usual, but cooks prepared meals for only 2,000 won and the other half will be donated to starving children on that day.
'No car day' is a campaign for reducing pollution on campus caused by 6,000 cars every day. Also, it was held to help to reduce oil spending and global warming. On that day, all automobiles are restricted except public transportation, emergency vehicles, and cars with disabled badges. The aim is to encourage people to use public transportation or walk.
Finally, 'Honest campus' movement will be held on December 1 to 12. This movement is to help stop people cheating. All test papers have a signature section which students sign to say they have been honest to make fairer tests and more honest students.
