Construction of the new School of Medicine and College of Nursing is to restart following the completion of the outer structure in 2003. On August 1, Dongsan Medical Center set up a center of operations to facilitate construction with Professor Kwon Tae-chan of the School of Medicine as head.

According to the center, new plans will be drawn up by the end of November, and actual construction will start from January 2009. As the present needs of the school have changed from those of 2000, when construction first started, design changes were necessary to provide suitable space. Final completion of construction is expected in January 2010. Lectures will be given in these buildings from the following March.

Professor Kwon said, “I look forward to more active academic-industrial cooperation with the College of Natural Sciences through moving the School of Medicine and the College of Nursing to Seongseo campus. Moreover, I hope that students and professors in Seongseo campus will be happy to study with the students of the School of Medicine and the College of Nursing.”
