Department of Fashion Marketing in Brussels and Paris

FM Studio, one of the clubs in the Department of Fashion Marketing, is scheduled to participate in two exhibitions, Indigo Home Edition in Brussels, Belgium, from October 13 to 16 and Indigo Fashion Edition in Paris, France, from October 23 to 26. The two exhibitions are being held jointly by the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Textile Industries Association, FM Studio, and the prizewinners from the 2008 Korean Traditional Pattern Textile Design Contest.

Even though the Indigo exhibition is widely known for its rigid rules of selection, FM Studio has been invited to Fashion Edition in Paris four times. In the last exhibition, FM Studio sold their original design to German and Turkish fashion companies, and their works were recognized as having much commercial value.

In the Paris exhibition, students are to take charge of the design and establishment of their booth as well as its running. Professor Kim Mun-young (Department of Fashion Marketing) said, “The exhibits are made according to both traditional Korean and modern sensibilities. This exhibition is significant in that the students can practice what they have learned.”
