In commemoration of the 27th Teacher’s day, most colleges held events and athletic meetings with teachers and students. The Department of Korean Language and Literature had an event called “Eating rice under the same roof” and reflected on the meaning of Teacher’s Day. In addition, the newly-established Department of English Education held an event for Teacher’s Day and their foundation ceremony. “Music at Noon” is being held every Thursday in the Social Sciences Building on Seongseo campus from May 1. The event, organized by the General Student Council and the College of Music and Performing Arts, is being held to inform Keimyung students of the moving of the College of Music and Performing Arts to Seongseo campus and to help people to appreciate music performances.The Keimyung chamber orchestra plays seven or eight pieces of popular and classical music, and its performances continue until June 5. On May 21, Ha Suk-bae, a professor in the College of Music and Performing Arts, joined nine other famous Korean tenors at the Ten Tenors Concert in Seoul Art Center. In the sense that the number of tenor performances has decreased these days compared with frequent soprano performances like Cho Su-mi, the performance of these famous Korean tenors has a significant meaning for the Korean audience who rarely have the chance to see such performances. Hengso Museum is exhibiting various works of folk painting to commemorate the anniversary of the opening of Keimyung University. Flowers, birds, tigers, and magpies are the main theme of the exhibition. CUBISM 1911-1914, an exhibition of Czech buildings, promoted by Keimyung University, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Korea, and the Korea Czech Association, was held at Daemyung Campus Geukjae Art Gallery from April 1 to 7 for free. Although cubism style of buildings got an inspiration from works of Picasso. The exhibition had displayed a lot of photographs, sketches on the architecture of twenty three buildings.
