On June 9, a tea culture event by Korea and China, conducted by Keimyung University, the Tea Culture Institute, and the Confucius Institute was held in Keimyung Village School, Hanhak-chon. Keimyung Visa Festival was held from May 24th to the 26th. On the first day, there were many programs such as the opening ceremony, an English speed quiz, a blood donation relay, a performance by the famous singer, Kim Jang-hoon, making natural soap, a job fair about airlines, and a special lecture about the coming of-Age Day. On the second day, there was an announcer test, a campaign to help Africa, and a lecture about foreign country internships. On the final day, there was the 'Visa Star K' singing contest, a feat of super strength performance, a photo exhibition, and a health campaign.
On May 20, the 56th anniversary of the foundation of Keimyung University was held in Adams Chapel. Many people attended the ceremony, including our president Synn Il-hi, celebrities, and congratulators. The schedule consisted of prize-giving, an opening address by our president, a performance by an ensemble, and a performance by a choir. 76 people received awards. President Synn asked that we strive to help Keimyung University develop. The ceremony began at 11:00am and continued for an hour.
On May 14, a special lecture by Lee Je-seok, a graduate of KMU, and regarded as an advertising genius, was held in Woonjae room in Euiyang Hall. After graduating university, Lee Je-seok went to America and was awarded many prizes in the field of advertising. An interviewer asked him why he made public service advertisements. He answered, "I want to make other people do good deeds." He emphasized, "Follow your own worthy rules rather than rules which others follow." He advised people "To make creative advertisements and look at everything with a different viewpoint."
On May 11-13, an Open House festival was held at Myungyo dormitory of Keimyung University.On the first day, there were many programs such as the dormitory opening, Futsal (indoor soccer) final match, mini games, a Bisa market, and a film screening (Jeonwoochi).
