On February 24, Dongsan Library’s 46 ancient books were selected as national properties by the Cultural Heritage Administration. ★ Freshmen ★․ Lim Seok-bin․ Freshman․ Dept. of Police Law Hi everyone! I’m Lim Seok-bin. I’m a freshman in the Dept. of Police Law. I had a dream to be a police officer. However, it changed as I grew up. I also wanted to study physical therapy. I agonized between the Dept. of Physical Therapy and the Dept. of Police Law. Finally, I couldn’t give up my childhood dream and I decided on the latter. University is the turning point of my life and at the same time a starting point to me. Although I am in the low rank at first, I hope to step up from low to high. I will do my best.

  • An Eye-opening Experience

A volunteering experience that really impacted my life was Keimyung University’s Global Volunteer Program. I can still remember the day when I found out that I was one of those qualified students heading to Myanmar for volunteer work. I was very nervous, waiting for the result. But the moment I saw the names of applicants who passed the Global Volunteer Program, I became so happy because I knew that I would be receiving the plane ticket for Myanmar. After qualifying, I made preparations. It was Keimyung University’s first volunteer trip to Myanmar. For the positive image of our university and c

Do you have much stress due to daily life? You can relieve the stress by taking a trip. Let me introduce a beautiful place to you. Can you guess? It’s Ulsan. Ulsan is one of the metropolitan cities in Korea. It is a good city for a trip because it has beautiful sea and other attractions like Jeongja Beach, Jangsaengpo whale museum, Daewangam Park, and Ulsan Grand Park. ① Jeongja BeachJeongja beach is the one of the best places to watch the sun rising. It also has some unusual features. The beach is composed of gravel, not sand, and there are basalt pillars which are made when magma cools down

  • My Path Through University

Recently a student expressed to me that she has been feeling bewildered as to why she is at university. I told her I sympathized: I always hated school. Please don’t misunderstand me. I love teaching, but I hated being a student. I love learning, but I hate studying. I struggled to get through both high school and university. I didn’t struggle because I didn’t understand the material; I struggled because I didn’t know why I was doing it. It was hard for me because I fundamentally understood the purpose of university – a good job, a comfortable life. I also wanted to please my parents and

The Gazette gave me courageHello! Nice to meet you. I’m Bae Hyun-na. This year I will be a sophomore and I am majoring in American Studies at Keimyung University. Through this corner, I will share my experiences with you. Initially, if I heard about an English newspaper from someone, I just felt that English newspapers are very hard and they give me a headache. The reason for reading an English newspaper is just for my studying with an English dictionary. In fact, I knew there were English newspapers in Keimyung University, but I never considered reading them. One day, a friend suggested, "Rea
