  • Tourist Attractions in Korea

I would like to introduce a big cave called Gwangmyong Cave. It is located in Gwangmyong in Gyonggi Province, recently famous for IKEA. I couldn’t even imagine that the cave is in the center of town. If you go inside the cave, you can feel cool air and a breeze that makes you feel better, especially in the hot weather. You might even feel cold in the middle of summer. In the cave, you can see an aquarium, a bar and a stage for concerts, which are all decorated in various themes. I want to recommend this place because resting here during hot weather can make you more cheerful. Visiting here wit

  • Specifications for Employment

In the Netherlands, after primary school (age 4-12) children go to different levels of high school depending on the results of one test and the overall score during primary school. Students are then divided into low (4 years), medium (5 years) or a high level (6 years) high school. After high school, students can go to a four-year university depending on their level. The certificate of the lowest university equals an associate’s degree, middle equals a bachelor’s and high equals a master’s. Then you apply for a job on the level you graduated. Extracurricular activities are good, sometimes a mu

  • Abolition of Adultery

Last February, the adultery law that has existed for 62 years was found unconstitutional. Accordingly, those who were charged with adultery on and after 2008 were found innocent. To be honest, I think the judgment is not right. The Korean government removed the adultery law that was a defensive measure to keep households together despite the fact that it’s difficult to maintain a family in South Korea nowadays. In addition, a country’s laws are scales that represent the values of that country. I feel sad that the government tried to stay away from an ethic for humanity, while gradually emphasi

  • Stability of the Lotte World Tower & Lotte World Mall

People tend to worry about everything, even if they have no particular reason. Lotte World Mall is going through a difficult time because of safety matters. At first, I thought it could be another Seweol-like disaster as it is a huge structure, which could be the source of big accidents. But according to investigators, the sinkholes nearby were caused by subway construction, not because of the building construction. This was liable to lead to misunderstanding, and that misunderstanding brought about people’s anxiety. Indeed, we have to be careful about small safety problems, but excessive conc

  • Operation of Reactor-1 at Gori Nuclear Power Plant

Since the terrible accident of the Sewol ferry, people have been concerned about safety a lot. The operation of Reactor-1 at the Gori Nuclear Power Plant affects peo-ple's safety. Yhere are safety peotection sys-tems in every nuclear reactor. However, people are still worried about an accident involving radiation. Reactor-1 is 30 years old and has had several accidents because of its age. Fear of an accident could be just rash reactions from distored public opin-ions, but I think the nation has a responsi-bility to make people feel safe and secure. Neclear plant inspectors need to improve safe

  • Releasing the Identities of Offenders

Disclosing information on offenders has been a long-debated issue, despite it already being compulsory for certain sex offenders’ personal information to be disclosed to the public. People who agree with disclosing information believe that that can prevent recidivism, but there is no obvious difference in crime rates when information is disclosed. In addition, criminals whose information has been disclosed to the public tend to live in hiding, which makes it more difficult to keep an eye on them. It is necessary to find alternative methods to lower crime rates. We try to find out appropriate s

  • Prohibition of Advance Learning

Advanced learning prohibition was passed by the National Assembly. The law bans extended curriculum. For example, when instructors make examination questions, they can’t use high school curriculum with middle school students. It will be effective in September. I think there are some positive effects. First, prerequisite learning prohibition makes reliance on private education less. Also, the burden of education expenses will decrease. However, each student has a different level of understanding. Some students who are more outstanding than others need advanced learning. I think that purpose of

  • Expanded Designation of Non-smoking Area

Expanding smoke-free zones in Korea is a very important issue. I hope the smoke-free zones will be expanded. I think there are several benefits to expanding smoke-free zones, especially for nonsmokers. It is true that lots of nonsmokers are easily damaged by smokers in places like restaurants that don’t have smoking areas. A cigarette has many harmful materials. Most of them are able to cause cancer. Not every smoker, but some of them don’t have good manners. There are some people who smoke out of appointed places. Not only is it important to expand smoke-free zones, but also to require smoker
