    KMU Dongsan Medical Center was chosen as the “2012 Occupational Safety and Health Center” to Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency. Dongsan Medical Center will conduct health counseling, physical therapy, psychological counseling to organize physicians, nurses, social workers, counseling psychologists, and physical therapists for 50 workers in Seongseo Industrial Complex. Also, they will establish the workers’ health center in Seongseo Three hospitals in Korea were chosen as workers’ health centers. Donsan Medical Center was the only hospital chosen in Daegu.   • KMU Attracts Drama and Film Shoots

    KMU campus is increasingly becoming a popular spot for dramas and movies. Sarangbi, directed by Yoon Suk-ho, who is famous for Gaeul Donghwa and Winter Sonata, has been filmed on KMU campus since September 2011. The drama has attracted nationwide attention because Yun-a and Jang Geun-suk star in this drama. Since KMU campus became known as the filming location of Sarangbi, many Japanese fans have visited KMU campus.     A Koreanology journal published by Keimyung University will be registered on the Arts and Humanities Citation index (A&HCI). A&HCI is a citation index in the humanities published by Thomson Reuters’ Healthcare Science division.   • Special Lecture by Cinematographer

    December 6th, a producer, and cinematographer Sam Cullman and Lois Vossen visited Kemyung University for giving a special lecture. Sam Cullman established Yellow Cake Films in 2006 after graduating from Brown university where he had majored in urban studies and the visual arts.     On December 19, Keimyung University's Butbarry club in the Social Welfare Department received the excellence award during the Life Guard Volunteer Organization awards ceremony. In this competition, Butbarry doubled the talent donation performances in the Seongseo Welfare Center for low-income children who do not have access to music education by offering chorus programs to low-income children. Keimyung University Hosts International Fashion Show Celebrating 125th Anniversary On October 30th, the Department of Fashion Design hosted the International Fashion Show Celebrating Keimyung University’s 125th Anniversary at a special stage in front of the main building on Daemyung Campus. The event featured participation from prestigious fashion institutions, including Donghua University in China, Maranatha Christian University in Indonesia, Ueda College of Fashion in Japan, and the National Institute of Art and Design in Uzbekistan. French Exchange Students Cultural Adventure in Daegu On November 8th, 2024, 77 French exchange and study-abroad students participated in a unique cultural excursion in Daegu, sponsored by the DGIEA Korean-Italian Association. The day’s itinerary included a visit to Gunparkrugi Theme Park, an engaging persimmon-picking experience at Songgeum Green Rural Village, and a thrilling rail bike ride. The event provided the students with a meaningful opportunity to immerse themselves in Korea’s cultural and rural heritage while enjoying memorable outdoor activities.
