    The program, 'Meeting the Mayor of Daegu with University Newspaper Reporters', was held on July 24th.The purpose of this meeting was to talk about the promotion related to Daegu City Administration for 'Current information about Daegu', 'Improving of understanding about administration', and 'Infusing local patriotism of local University students'. There were 41 people participating in the program: 33 reporters, eight presenters from startup companies, four Daegu City Hall executives.The program consisted of three parts.   • Kim Seung-jun Wins Award

    Kim Seung-jun, who is a graduate of KMU, won the prestigious President’s Award from President Barack Obama. He contributed to improving cultural exchange and sports exchange and cooperation between South Korea and the US.Kim Seung-jun worked as a martial arts instructor in US Armed Forces, South Korea. He tried to promote a spirit of goodwill in international relations between South Korea and the US. He was also awarded the President’s Award from President George Bush in 2007.   • International Children's Game at Keimyung University

    The Opening Ceremony of the International Children's Games (ICG) was held in outdoor auditorium at Keimyung University on Friday, July 13th. About 2000 students from 80 cities in 50 countries, including Korea, USA, and China participated in ICG.The Opening Ceremony started with the entrance of Salbi, the Daegu mascot for track and field. Many performances such as Korean traditional dances and Taekwondo were performed.   • Victory of KMU Archery Students in the World University Archery Championships

    The KMU archery team won five gold medals in the recurve event in the Cordoba, Spain on July 8. In the world university archery competition, KMU students Jin Jae-wang, Park Sae-yan, Jang Eun-bin played an important role in this competition. Jin Jae-wang, who grabbed two gold medals in the individual division and team competition, beat the Japanese 19-14 with Sung Woo-kyoung (University of Incheon) and Kim Bong-man (Hanil University & Presbyterian Theological Seminary) in the men's team event.     In the U.S.A, 36 Keimyung University students who attended the Global Career School for overseas cultural and corporate experience performed a flash mob dance to promote Dokdo 4 times. They had a flash mob campaign in the Smithsonian Museum, Independence Hall, and South Street Seaport during their busy 11 nights and 12 days program.     On July 6, Synn Il-hi, the president of Keimyung University, started his term of 4 years with an inauguration held at Adams Chapel. Keimyung University Hosts International Fashion Show Celebrating 125th Anniversary On October 30th, the Department of Fashion Design hosted the International Fashion Show Celebrating Keimyung University’s 125th Anniversary at a special stage in front of the main building on Daemyung Campus. The event featured participation from prestigious fashion institutions, including Donghua University in China, Maranatha Christian University in Indonesia, Ueda College of Fashion in Japan, and the National Institute of Art and Design in Uzbekistan. French Exchange Students Cultural Adventure in Daegu On November 8th, 2024, 77 French exchange and study-abroad students participated in a unique cultural excursion in Daegu, sponsored by the DGIEA Korean-Italian Association. The day’s itinerary included a visit to Gunparkrugi Theme Park, an engaging persimmon-picking experience at Songgeum Green Rural Village, and a thrilling rail bike ride. The event provided the students with a meaningful opportunity to immerse themselves in Korea’s cultural and rural heritage while enjoying memorable outdoor activities.
