On February 15, KMU students were awarded the grand prize in the Spark Design Awards held in San Francisco. They are four students from the Department of Industrial Design: Hyuntae Kim, Hyuntae Roh, Seungmin Bak, and Khanyoung Kong. The Spark Design Awards are an international design award. Keimyung University recently had a program for children and the elderly called “Mentoring Service Program for Children”. About 80 children from Namgu, Dalseogu, and Dalseounggun's multicultural and low-income families visited 28 elderly people who live alone. Keimyung University President Synn Il-hi was appointed as an honorary consul general of Korea in Poland from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Polish government on December 20th, 2012.President Synn has been Poland’s honorary consul since October 2005.
