Keimyung University held a university admissions information fair in Keimyung Art Center on July 8. The 15th KMU Open University Program was held at the Seongseo and Daemyung campuses of KMU from July 21 to 22. This program is an event for high school students to experience university life. KMU was the first to start a university experience program in Daegu and Gyeongbuk.There were about 1700 participants from 62 high schools. Most of the participants were second graders from Daegu, Ulsan, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam. Twenty-one students from Keimyung University’s Department of Fashion Marketing participated in the 2015 Milan Expo Special Exhibition (Expo in Citta 2015) held July 2 to 4. The exhibition was one part of the Expo Milano 2015.Daegu and Milan held a special exhibition in the Duomo Urban Center in Milan during their sister city celebrations. A lecture about the excavation of the Hoeam Temple site was held at Hengso Museum at 2 p.m. on June 30. This lecture is a part of the Hengso Museum’s culture academy at Keimyung Unversity. The instructor was Song Man-young who is a professor in the Department of History at Soongsil University. He introduced the Hoeam Temple site and talked about the history and structure of the site. The Heoam Temple site is in Yangju, Gyeonggi Province and was appointed as National Historic Site No. 128. The temple was built in 1376, but, it was unfortunately destroyed by fire in 1566. Professor Lee Tae-hui of Keimyung University won the best picture award for his digital image “Tic-Tac-Bang #15” at an exhibition held by the Korea Contents Association. This year, about 300 foreign and domestic pictures were entered and 10 best pictures were nominated. Lee Tae-hui is a professor in the Department of Video and Animation in the College of Fine Arts, the director of the Korean Society of Media & Arts and an operation committee member of the Daegu Art Factory.
