    The Ministry of Education announced that Keimyung University (KMU) was selected for CORE, the acronym for COllege of humanities Research and Education. Seven universities in the capital and nine regional universities were selected. CORE is the first financial support for research and education in colleges of humanities. This initiative was made to overcome the low popularity and the low employment rate of humanities majors.     A special lecture was held on March 29 at New Bauer Hall. The theme was world travel and entrepreneurship. The writer Ryu Kwang-hyun has traveled to 31 countries and listened to the stories of Korean CEOs who have lived in foreign countries. His purpose was learning entrepreneurship from Korean CEOs in different countries and companies. He met CEOs in small and large enterprises and many different industries like agriculture, livestock and lodging.     A special lecture about the Qualcomm Institute Global Work Experience Program was held at the College of Engineering on March 15. This special lecture was mainly for students who are in the Departments of Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Game & Mobile Contents. Keimyung University Hosts International Fashion Show Celebrating 125th Anniversary On October 30th, the Department of Fashion Design hosted the International Fashion Show Celebrating Keimyung University’s 125th Anniversary at a special stage in front of the main building on Daemyung Campus. The event featured participation from prestigious fashion institutions, including Donghua University in China, Maranatha Christian University in Indonesia, Ueda College of Fashion in Japan, and the National Institute of Art and Design in Uzbekistan. Under the theme, “Arc,” symbolizing growth and vision, the Fashion Show showcased 94 outfits created by Keimyung University’s Fashion Design

French Exchange Students Cultural Adventure in Daegu On November 8th, 2024, 77 French exchange and study-abroad students participated in a unique cultural excursion in Daegu, sponsored by the DGIEA Korean-Italian Association. The day’s itinerary included a visit to Gunparkrugi Theme Park, an engaging persimmon-picking experience at Songgeum Green Rural Village, and a thrilling rail bike ride. The event provided the students with a meaningful opportunity to immerse themselves in Korea’s cultural and rural heritage while enjoying memorable outdoor activities.
