    On May 16, a presentation about Australian government scholarships was held in Keimyung University Youngam Hall.   • Dormitory Curfew

    In Korea, most university dormitories have curfew hours to protect students’ safety. While some students agree with this system, others don't.ProMost university dormitories in Korea have curfew hours. Students are expected to be in their rooms for a curfew check-in. Currently, the checking time at Keimyung University Myunggyo Dormitory is 11:00 P.M. You are allowed to come back to the dormitory between 11:00 P.M. and 11:40 P.M. three times, but when the number exceeds three times, you get one penalty point.   • President Synn Ilhi’s 50th Academic Jubileum

    Keimyung University President Synn Ilhi has been an educator for 50 years. He received a Ph.D. in German literature from Princeton University in 1966. Afterwards, he spent time as a professor at the City University of New York for five years. When he came back to Korea, he became the first president of Keimyung University in 1978. His achievements are strict financial management and various nongovernmental diplomatic activities.   • The Advertisement Contest Awards

    There was an award ceremony for an advertisement contest to promote Keimyung University on May 3. The topic was open but should offer fresh and unique content.Gold prizes were awarded to three teams, silver prizes to three teams and village prizes to six teams.   • Willy Ippolito Organ Solo

    On May 2, an organ solo was held at Keimyung University Adams Chapel. The recital was arranged by the College of Music and Performing Arts. Willy Ippolito, who comes from France, played the organ. The recital contained Bach’s Toccata, Adagio and Fuga, Pachelbel’s Aria Quinta from Hexacordum Appolinis, Cabanilles’ Passacalles, and Vivaldi’s Concerto Grosso d-Moll RV 565.Willy Ippolito served as the Notre-Dame de Boulogne-Billancourt organist and currently serves as harpsichord and organ professor at the National Conservatory in Charleville-Mzires, his hometown.   • The Event to Celebrate World Book and Copyright Day

    On April 27, an event was held to celebrate World Book and Copyright Day on the first floor of Dongsan Library. This event gave a red rose to anyone who returned 115 books from KMU's education collection to the library by using the auto book lending machine. Additionally, there was a quiz about the Dongsan Library and a lottery for some prizes.   • A Tree Planting Event in Dongyoung Forest

    On April 1, Keimyung University (KMU) hosted a tree planting event to celebrate Arbor Day. This Arbor Day celebration was held in KMU’s Dongyoung Forest in Chilgok. The event attendees removed dead trees, planted valuable research trees such as white birch, hinoki cypress and oriental raisin tree and learned about their medicinal uses. Also, Dongyoung Forest has a cypress forest that was created by a donation from Chilgok-gun government. Keimyung University Hosts International Fashion Show Celebrating 125th Anniversary On October 30th, the Department of Fashion Design hosted the International Fashion Show Celebrating Keimyung University’s 125th Anniversary at a special stage in front of the main building on Daemyung Campus. The event featured participation from prestigious fashion institutions, including Donghua University in China, Maranatha Christian University in Indonesia, Ueda College of Fashion in Japan, and the National Institute of Art and Design in Uzbekistan. French Exchange Students Cultural Adventure in Daegu On November 8th, 2024, 77 French exchange and study-abroad students participated in a unique cultural excursion in Daegu, sponsored by the DGIEA Korean-Italian Association. The day’s itinerary included a visit to Gunparkrugi Theme Park, an engaging persimmon-picking experience at Songgeum Green Rural Village, and a thrilling rail bike ride.
