In November, Keimyung University cele brated its 125th anniversary by hosting an In ternational Student Traditional Costume Fashion Show at Keimyung Art Center. Organ ized by the International Affairs Center, the event aimed to promote cultural exchange through traditional attire from around the world. On November 13, 72 students from 29 coun tries, including Korea, Hungary, Japan, Egypt, and Ukraine, showcased their national cos tumes at the Keimyung Art Center. On November 16th-17th, 30 international exchange students along with some Korean students from Keimyung University joined a cultural tour in Andong. Organized by the Korean Studies Advancement Center and supported by national and local authorities, the program showcased Korea’s cultural heritage. Participants visited Hahoe Village, Byeongsan Seowon, Buyongdae, Bongjeongsa, and Dosan Seowon. They also experienced traditional activities such as woodblock printing and exploring the Confucian Culture Museum. The tour provided a valuable opportunity to connect with Korea’s cultural history.
On November 8th, 2024, 77 French exchange and study-abroad students participated in a unique cultural excursion in Daegu, sponsored by the DGIEA Korean-Italian Association. The day’s itinerary included a visit to Gunparkrugi Theme Park, an engaging persimmon-picking experience at Songgeum Green Rural Village, and a thrilling rail bike ride. The event provided the students with a meaningful opportunity to immerse themselves in Korea’s cultural and rural heritage while enjoying memorable outdoor activities.
On November 12th, Keimyung University’s archery coach Ryu Su-jeong and alumna Jang Hye-jin were awarded the Cheongnyong Medal at the 2024 Sports Development Merit Awards and the 62nd Korea Sports Awards Ceremony, hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The Cheongnyong Medal is the highest award among the five levels of sports merit awards, this year, a total of six individuals were honored, including Coach Ryu and alumna Jang in the coach and athlete categories, respectively. On October 30th, the Department of Fashion Design hosted the International Fashion Show Celebrating Keimyung University’s 125th Anniversary at a special stage in front of the main building on Daemyung Campus.
