< My Personal Definition of GSEP >
As GSEP came into being last year, I was the first member of GSEP. At first, I didn't have an exact idea of what GSEP was. Right after I became a member, I went to Pyungchang to take two weeks' basic course lectures. We studied nine subjects related to trade from experts on the field of trade and competed with other students from eighteen other universities in Korea. In two weeks, this program motivated me to become a trade specialist and I came to believe this program will give me a lot of benefit.
For the first semester in GSEP, we studied TOEIC everyday and studied about trade through the instructor from EC21.com, one of the biggest e-market companies in the world. We had a lot of group work to do, and it took a lot of time. During the last winter vacation, we participated in overseas exhibitions. Some of us went to the U.S.A., and others went to Japan and China. Not as a traveling purpose - we spent all the winter preparing for many exhibitions. Finding appropriate products to sell and to advertise, we made a lot of plans to attract foreign buyers by designing advertising pamphlets or advertising banners. We invited instructors for special lectures, visited sponsoring companies, sent invitation mails to overseas companies etc. Through the efforts we made, in the actual exhibitions, we could evaluate all the preparatory processes we had planned and, more than anything else, the result was quite excellent many foreign buyers visited our exhibition booths and showed much interest in our products. I was very excited with the result and also with the good opportunity to learn real world business.
I think I'm so lucky to have taken this great opportunity and, now, my life goal is to be a world trader. I suggest anyone who majors in international commerce or e-trade, or who wants to work for trading companies in the future, join the GSEP program and prepare for your future ahead of others.
