These days, as the world is increasingly globalized, cooperation between countries is becoming very important. According to that kind of atmosphere, international exhibitions and conferences are at the very center of globalization. In Daegu, there is EXCO, which opened in April 2001.

EXCO is the abbreviation of "Exhibition and Convention Center," and it is located in the north of Daegu. It has an advantage of traffic because it is connected to Daegu Airport, KTX, and Gyeongbu expressway. It is also the first exhibition and convention center outside Seoul. Therefore, it is very meaningful to Daegu.

EXCO has four stories below and five stories above around. There are exhibition halls, a PC room, an orientation room, small conference rooms, an international conference room, exhibition and convention hall, and a teleconference room. EXCO also provides the best services such as simultaneous interpretation in six languages and the newest presentation equipment. There is also a shopping center underground. There are restaurants and furniture shops. Therefore, people can enjoy their work and shopping at one place.


Since its opening, many exhibitions and conferences have taken place all year round.

1. International Textile Fair (PID)

Preview in Daegu (PID), which is held every March, is the spring/summer international textile fair. It represents the excellence of Korean textile manufacturers in terms of innovative technology in high-tech and functional fabrics.

2. Daegu International Optical Show (DIOPS)

High quality optical frames manufactured in Daegu and other optical products are on display during the show. A number of side events, including an international symposium and conference, also take place.

3. Daegu International Automatic Machinery & Tools Exhibition (DAMEX)

Daegu International Automatic Machinery & Tools Exhibition (DAMEX) is held to promote high-tech, automated equipment and the development of new technology.

4. Tour Expo DAEGU

This is an international tourism exhibition where people can see many tour packages to Korea and other countries, tour information, culture, and industry trends. Daegu and Gyeongbuk area authorities co-host, and many companies participate in this exhibition. This exhibition takes place every April.
