The West Lake area and the surrounding hills to the south have been largely responsible for Hangzhou's reputation as "Paradise on Earth." West Lake is known for its panoramic scenery, weeping willow trees, flowering peach trees, rockeries, ancient stone bridges, and hills dotted with multi-tiered temple pagodas.
You can visit the islands in the middle of the lake and take a day just sailing in. So pleasant if the sun is shinning. The Yue Fei Mu is a mausoleum-temple at the north side of the lake and is also interesting also as the Liuhe Ta, Six harmonies Pagoda.
This lake is so big, so if you want to look around all the lake, you should ride a ferry or a boat. I walked around the lake area for 1 hour and watched the waterfall performance. In addition, if you want, you can wear traditional chinese cloth and take a photo after paying just 24 Yuen. I hope this introduction makes you have attention to visit them.
