An employee was killed by a sandwich sauce machine at a SPL bakery in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, in the early morning of October 15, 2022. It was found that the employee’s apron was caught between machines and suffocated to death. After the accident, the SPC Group's response was criticized by the public. This accident, environmental problems at SPC-affiliated factories, tyranny of franchise owners, and discrimination against internal promotion led to the boycott of SPC group companies. Eight days after the accident, a finger-scissors accident occurred at an SPC-affiliated factory, and an arm-scratching accident occurred repeatedly at a Nongshim ramen factory.  

Around 10:15 p.m. on October 29, 2022, people gathered in a small alley west of the Hamilton Hotel in Itaewon-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul to enjoy Halloween festival and died. The accident killed 158 people and injured 196 people. The situation worsened as people quickly flowed in and people behind them pushed, causing people to fall down and get crushed. About four hours before the accident, a total of 79 112-reports were received, but only four were actually investigated. This was an opportunity for a variety of controversies, including the controversy over the police's handling of defects and the controversy over the use of safety protocols. Due to the accident, the Republic of Korea had a week-long period mourning, and most of the events were canceled during this period. 

At 8 p.m. on November 5, 2022, an employee of the Korea Railroad Corporation was hit and killed by a train while working at O-bong Station in Gyeonggi Province. The Ministry of Employment and Labor ordered that part of the station closed. At around 8:53 p.m. on Nov. 6, the day after the accident, a Mugunghwa train on the Gyeong-bu Line derailed at Yeongdeungpo Station. About 30 passengers were injured and 21 were taken to hospital. The Seoul Metropolitan Transportation Corporation announced that it would suspend the operation of the line 1 due to the derailment accident at Yeongdeungpo Station. The next day, the accident recovery was completed and the operation resumed, but the train delay continued due to the aftermath of the accident. 

Currently, incidents continue to occur in South Korea. However, due to the accident, they are unable to respond quickly, which causes more people to be injured unnecessarily. The government needs to take prompt action to address such incidents and to take measures after they occur to prevent them from happening in the future.ㅊ출처
