Interview with Chang Shu Chun

I interviewed Chang Shu Chun. She comes from Taiwan. She is an exchange student in Keimyung University. She majors in teaching Chinese as a second language and elementary school education. This interview is about preparing to be an exchange student.

1. Please introduce yourself.

My name is Chang Shu Chun. I come from Taiwan. My major is teaching Chinese as a second language and elementary school education. Teaching and studying are my favorite things in life. I have a lot of good memories of many kinds of volunteer activities in Taiwan, Canada, and Korea since elementary school.

2. How did you prepare to come to Korea as an exchange student?

Getting information was the most important for me to go abroad. In addition to asking for some help from teachers and friends, you also need to find more information through the Internet. Fortunately, I got a Korean government scholarship and study here this year.

3. What was difficult in preparing to be an exchange student?

Writing a letter of self-introduction and a study plan is not easy, but it is a great time for you to find what you want to investigate for your study. Thankfully, my friends from Korea, Taiwan, and Malaysia were willing to help me to prepare the application form.

4. Is there anything that you want to say to students preparing to be exchange students?

Take some paper and write your goal on the paper. I always read my dream and tried to make my dream come true. Finally, I realized my dream. As the proverb says, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” Don’t be shy and scared. All you need to make you happy is something to be enthusiastic about in your life. Language is the key to broadening your vision and enriching your experience.

5. What is your future plan?

I hope I become an “educator in action” and improve my knowledge and capability in education. I want to assist my country through my experience in Korea and by teaching language. I also look forward to promoting exchange between Taiwan and Korea.
