2014 Daegu Yangnyeongsi Herb Medicinal Herb Festival

‧ Place: Yangnyeongsi, Jung-gu, Daegu

Daegu Yangnyeongsi Festival has been an annual festival since 1658, except during the period of Japanese occupation. Yangnyeongsi was a marketplace where medicinal herb traders traded their wares with residents. The market in Yangnyeongsi seemed like a festival because of the large scale. Because of this, Yangnyeongsi was changed into a modern style festival in 1978.

This festival consists of diverse programs. Participants can experience many things such as a constitution diagnosis, pediluvium with herbal water, and walking through the medicinal herb tunnel. In addition, a traditional play entitled "Meeting Heo Jun" is performed from 5pm to 6pm. You can join this play from May 3 to 6. Interestingly, this festival uses copies of yeopjeon which is old Korean coins.

Students who are stressed out from studying can unwind at this festival and have a chance to learn about medicinal herb culture.

Holding a Snack Sharing Event for International Students From October 23 to 24, 2023, a snack sharing event was held at KMU's Dong-yeong Hall to cheer for the midterm exams of foreign students. The event was hosted by KMU's International Student Council and the International Cooperation Team.
