-Introduction
The Confucius Institute is operated by Beijing Language and Culture University. It provides Chinese education programs and Chinese teachers from the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. In addition, it develops teaching materials for children. There are 2 visiting professors, 4 Korean teachers, and 2 Chinese teachers.

-Courses
1. Short courses
The short courses are usually 8-week courses. There are a speaking course, a new HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) course, and special courses such as pronunciation, Chinese culture, and a Chinese grammar course. All courses are 160,000 won for non-students and 140,000 won for students. However, the 10:30 a.m. beginner course is free for housewives. People who take over 2 courses can get a 30% discount, and if non-students re-take a course, they pay student tuition.

2. Teacher Training Program
The program is for the Chinese teacher recruitment examination. The professional teacher in the Chinese as a Second Language Teacher Training course teaches by agreement with Beijing Language and Culture University. If people take this course, they can get a certificate from Beijing Language and Culture University. The course includes teaching methods, theory, practice, Chinese culture, and teaching methods for children. The course is offered 2 times a year, and it is a 17-week course. The tuition is 650,000 won.

Enrolling in all courses on-line is allowed. The institute was designated an HSK test site this year, so people can take the HSK at Keimyung University.
