Excused Absence for Women's Menstruation? (2)

NO
Every month women have a hard time and we call it a magical time. During this magical time, most women have physical pain and some women can’t even walk. Nowadays, those with this physical pain insist on taking the class off. Concerning my opinion, I think it’s a little bit hard to make everyone understand. I’ll give you two clues.

First, let’s suppose you are in the office and you and your colleagues have to make a team do a very important project. You think if you become chief, you can lead the team effectively and make the project successful. So you want to get this chance and show everybody that you can make it. But your supervisor says, “I’m sorry, I know you are good enough to do it, but I think this is not your turn.” Then you will probably ask the reason why. He will avoid telling you the reason, but you feel it is because you are a woman that you can’t take this position. Will you accept that reason? You want to have equal treatment but you probably can’t erase the idea that you are still discriminated against because you are a woman. I want to apply this situation to taking the class off. Taking the class off is giving up the chance to be treated as fairly as a man. Don’t give it up!

The other reason is this, even when I’m in the magical time, I don’t have physical pain. So, I can’t understand how hard it is. But I think even if you are suffering from severe pain you can take the class. One of my friends has a very hard time every month, but she never takes the class off. I think she’s doing the right thing. If every woman has a chance to take the class off, they wouldn’t concentrate on that class. Instead, they may use this chance to play. If she uses it, how can you say whether she is really sick or faking? Only she knows the truth. For women who have are really hard time, it would be great, but on the other hand I can’t stop thinking about the side effects I mentioned.
