1: Please introduce your home town.

I am from Baku, which is the capital of Azerbaijan. My hometown has several advantages that make it a great place to live. It has its own culture, sport, music and special dress. People there are very friendly and very hospitable. Its culture is unique. There are several holidays during the year .What I like most is the Novruz holiday. We go and see all our relatives. Everybody looks forward to celebrating this holiday. There are so many sweets, cookies, and meals in each home on this holiday.

2: In your country, what is the most famous food?

There are several kinds of food, and they are really good. Sovuz is made from potatoes and meat. The most famous food in Azerbaijan is plov, king of meals. Its ingredients are meat, rice, and different spices. On famous holidays like Novruz, plov is in every home. It is traditional to cook it when you receive a special guest or for weddings.

3: Please introduce your country’s famous tourist attraction.

Azerbaijan is very popular with the biggest lake in the world, the Caspian Sea, over 8000 rivers, and the Greater Caucasus, Lesser Caucasus, and Talysh mountains. I think Baku is very beautiful and has lovely sightseeing, lots of national parks around the outside, famous landmarks, and of course historical places, museums, and monuments. Icherisheher Castle was an important place to us in ancient times. This place had the important function to protect our citizens. There are many tourists from all over the world there. You can’t imagine how beautiful the tourist attractions are.

4: What culture shock did you get in Korea?

During my first week here, everything seemed to me like culture shock. Little by little I got used to everything. For example, in Azerbaijan men always should respect women. If they don’t, they are called rude. In a bus, men should offer women a seat. It is considered impolite when men sit and women stand. Also when men go for a walk or to a restaurant with a girl, he should pay. However, here, boy or girl, everybody pays their bills. It is kind of good, I think. And meals! Meals are too hot here. I really haven’t adapted to eating Korean meals. That is the biggest culture shock for me. Overall, Koreans are so kind and I love them.
