The “Gazette” surveyed 200 female Keimyung University students about their views on situations facing modern Korean women.

1. Your boss in the prosecutor's office tells you to find out the key to a very important case by tempting the man who has the key. Will you follow these directions?

2. You slept with a man in a romantic atmosphere accidentally, and you became pregnant. However, you don't want pregnancy before marriage. How do you solve this situation?

_I will have an abortion 56%

3. It's difficult to take care of children and to hold down a job. Would you give up your job for your child?

_Yes 52%
_No 48%

4. You love your job, and you are a great success as a career woman. Your boyfriend, who has got an offer to work overseas, proposed marriage to you, and he asked you to go abroad with him. Which one do you choose, a career woman or a wife?

_A career woman 61%
_A wife 39%

5. You are the eldest daughter and hope to study overseas in the future. Your brother, a high school senior, hopes to go to college. However, your father, a retiree, and mother, a housewife, are unable to support you and your brother. In addition, your parents want you to get a job after graduation and pay the tuition fee of your brother. How will you deal with this situation?

_I will go to study overseas with money from a part-time job 55%

6. Koreans bow to the elderly and get some money for that in New Year's holidays. Your grandmother gives ten thousand won to you and twenty thousand won to your brother. How do you act toward the grandmother who has sexual discrimination?

Many female Keimyung students had difficulty choosing between two answers. They want to attain their own goal, but they have a complication because of the roles of daughter, wife, and mother. This survey shows that many female students have both side of traditional women and “bad women.”
