Wall-E

If we say Wall-E (Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class) is an animation movie, but Wall-E does not really feel like an animation movie, many people will say, “What are you talking about?” Then, how do you feel when you hear words like ‘robots’ or ‘plants’? Do you think they are interrelated? When I first saw Wall-E , I checked the cover of the DVD and I was surprised. Initially, I thought that it was made for children, but later I found it nevertheless contains many important messages. When you see the movie poster, you will notice that Wall-E is a machine. However, when you watch the movie, you can feel so much human emotion, and that’s why I recommend this movie.

The movie starts in the year 2100, when the earth is covered with trash. People, animals and plants no longer live there. Wall-E, the name of the main robot character, has the job of cleaning up the trash that everyone left when they departed. Wall-E appears somewhat shabby and clumsy, and he has only one friend - a cockroach. His life changes when Eve (Extra-terrestrial Vegetation Evaluator), another robot, arrives for the purpose of examining the status of the planet.

When Eve comes to Earth, Wall-E appears to fall in love with Eve at first sight, and starts to develop a sense of purpose. However, Eve doesn’t understand Wall-E’s expressions, and merely continues with her mission. Later, she discovers that Wall-E has found the key to the future of the earth and heads back to space to report this, and Wall-E manages to follow her.

A distinctive feature of Wall-E is the fact that it has a lot less dialogue than most movies. Nevertheless, if you see this movie, you will discover the dire messages of the future and future society that Wall-E presents. Humans traveled across space and came to be accustomed to being served by robots. Instead of walking, people sit on floating chairs that take them where they want to go as they wouldn’t be able to do it on their own. What is worse, due to insufficient exercise, people become fatter and fatter, and have weak bones, because the robots do everything for them.

Wall-E is a movie that helps us to understand the dangers of living a life of convenience. It also makes us realize that, one day, robots may become an important part of everyday life, not only to help us, but also to teach us about emotion. Today, why don’t you consider planting a tree?
