Letters from Readers

My First Time Reading the Gazette

Hello to the readers of the Keimyung Gazette! Actually, this is the first time I've read the Gazette. However, I was so fascinated with the Gazette, and so I decided to write this letter. The Gazette has two fascinating points which attract readers.

First of all, the Gazette is well and easily written enough for the readers to understand the contents fully. Many existing English newspapers are written using difficult grammar or with difficult expressions which make readers frustrated while reading them. However, the Gazette is very clearly written, so its readers can understand the contents easily. This time, I was very interested in the "Interview" section. It dealt with Yin Dong Ling, a celebrity in Misuda, so I could get to know her personal information which was not seen on TV.

Secondly, the Gazette provides very useful information and well-timed news. In these days of globalization, university students want to go abroad, especially during their vacations. For this reason, the introduction of the working holiday program was so helpful to me, and that section provided actual help for the students who went on to use the working holiday program.

However, I have one thing I want to say to the Gazette: most of the Gazette readers are foreigners, so I think it would be a good idea to make a section dealing with introducing global cultures. Introducing global cultures in the Gazette would bring much help and interest to Keimyung’s global readers.

As a regular reader of the Gazette, I am looking forward to reading the next issue. I wish all of the Gazette reporters the best in your publication this year, too.

The English Newspaper of Keimyung University

I could not read the Gazette until I found the Web site of the Gazette last year. It was because I was just a freshman last year. As one of the Gazette readers, I want to talk about my view of it now.

First, I really get help from the Gazette. Even though we can easily find several English newspapers around us, their English is hard to read and the contents of them deal with heavy and difficult matters. In contrast to them, the Gazette is freely offered and treats easy contents with easy English. There are various interesting news and helpful sections like "Campus News," "Questionnaire," and "Puzzle" in the Gazette. Through these sections, I have studied English easily and could improve my English ability.

However, it is really regrettable that the Gazette is published just three times a semester. I think the best aspect of newspapers lies in the fast speed in delivering the news to readers. I assume frequent publication of the newspaper is difficult, but I wish Keimyung students could meet the Gazette more frequently than now with new news.

The Gazette is a very useful and excellent newspaper in Keimyung. I want to find more campus news and undergraduates' or graduates' stories in the Gazette. With the Gazette, I can record the news of Keimyung through its continuous reports of Keimyung news and other useful information.
