Interview with Yin Dong Ling-KMU Celebrity on Misuda

Recently, Keimyung University came to have another celebrity after Katheryn Bailey. Her name is Yin Dong Ling, and she appears on the talk show Misuda.
She is from China, and now she is a graduate school student in the Department of Tourism Management. Now, the Gazette would like to introduce Yin Dong Ling's hometown and her impression of Korea and Korean people through our interview with her.

1) Why did you choose to study in Korea, and why in KMU? We heard there are interesting reasons.
When I was a high school student, I liked the Korean group HOT. At that time, the walls of my room were covered with HOT posters. The hometown of one member in HOT was Gumi City. Since then, I have been interested in Korea, and I've come to know that Korea is a beautiful country. In addition, I think my choice of Keimyung University was excellent; the campus is so beautiful and it seems to me that Keimyung University tries its best to care for foreign students and to provide for them through many scholarship programs.

2) You have been in Korea for two and a half years. What do you think has made you inconvenient during your stay in Korea, and what is your favorite thing in Korea?
I am getting so accustomed to Korean life that I don't think I have many inconveniences in Korea. However, when I was sick, I couldn't receive any medical benefits using my health insurance. Also, since I became a celebrity after broadcasting, many Korean people recognize my face easily. It means that I have to get dressed up when I go anywhere. In addition, I am not so good at making new friends, so I frequently feel lonely. However, warm-hearted neighbors around me help me a lot and buy household goods for me to encourage me. Next, As for food, I like spicy Korean food. When I went to see my family in China, I missed spicy Korean food.

3) Can you introduce your hometown and tell us the differences between Chinese universities and Korean universities?
My hometown is Zhen Giang, a rural area near Shanghai. My hometown has 3500 years of Chinese history, and the water quality is so good that it is a widespread belief among Chinese people that unsurpassed beauties live in Zhen Giang. Next, let me tell you about a difference between Chinese universities and Korean universities. University life in China is like an extension of high school life, so Chinese university students can rarely choose the course they want. What is worse, before entering a dormitory, Chinese students should have two weeks of training. I envy Korean university life. Especially, I like Korea universities' club activities so much and I want to join one of the clubs. However, they just recruit members who are freshmen. As foreign students like me want to join the clubs and make many friends in them, I hope Korean students show an interest towards foreign students.

4) Do you have any plans for the coming winter vacation?
In China, New Year's Day is one of the most important events. I originally planned to go to China to see my family but I have to appear on a broadcast in Korea. For that reason, I will be too busy to go home. Instead, my mother is supposed to come to Korea. After spending time with my mother, I am going to take a trip to Hong Kong. I hope it will be a lot of fun!
