Advice for the Gazette

Hello. I have been interested in the Gazette for several years. Actually, I can get a lot of information from the Gazette. The Gazette is a vital element of a top international university like Keimyung University.

I have to give some advice instead of common thanks in order to make a better Gazette. Firstly, in my opinion the Gazette needs more competition from another newspaper in order to catch interesting new stories. This year especially, many foreigners are visiting our university. Their countries are all different, such as China, Russia, the USA, Turkey, France, India, etc. It is a good chance for the Gazette.

Organize a news gathering with newly-arrived foreigners and make an interesting article about the world on campus. I would like to know more about a variety of cultures.

Second, for exchange students, the Gazette needs more useful information. For example, an English menu and a price list of campus cafeterias, how to use a photocopying card, ingredients of Korean food for specific religions, when is the last train on the subway, etc. This information will be useful to them.

Third, why don't you make a new section about China? There are many Chinese students at our university. We can meet Chinese friends easily on the campus, so I need information for when I converse with them. If possible, why don't you recruit a Chinese student as a correspondent?

Some day, I hope that when people think about the Gazette, they'll think it is a useful and trustworthy newspaper. You can make that day soon. My thanks to the Gazette staff who made this interesting issue. I am looking forward to seeing the Gazette's development.

The Gazette, a multivitamin

I read newspapers while I walk down the street. Especially, I have a big interest in reading the English newspaper of Keimyung University, the Keimyung Gazette. The Gazette is very useful to me and has various information that I want to see.

Like most other senior year students, I have to try to find a job now. I am really concerned about that matter and trying my best to get some information about it. Recently, I read the Gazette's cover story titled, "To Achieve Your Dream," issued on September 8. The article was extremely helpful to me; I took part in the 4th job clinic camp at the end of September.

I am pleased to learn how to write my resume and personal introduction for my future job in advance. Further, I could find that the Office of Employment Support in Keimyung provides useful and detailed information about ways of getting a good job.

In addition, the article titled, "Automated Interviewing Machine,” also caught my attention. There were 2000 questions listed in the machine - even in the English language version too. By using this machine, I think I can practice one-to-one interviews and check my presentation, voice, etc.

I am continuing reading the Gazette and studying English through it. I also keep in mind the old saying, "Killing two birds with one stone." I hope the Gazette can continue to help students to achieve their future dreams.
