The Department of Library and Information Science of Keimyung University was selected for the University Funding Project (CK-1) and BK21 Plus Project. KMU was the only university selected for these projects and received two billion won.

To train qualified information service personnel, one of the teams in the University Funding Projects (CK-1) provides supporting study programs, special lectures on foreign language, licenses and employment. A team in the BK21 Plus Project provides academic seminars and special lectures by distinguished foreign scholars.

The Department of Library and Information Science at KMU was founded in 1980 and offers undergraduate and graduate courses. There are degree programs leading to a BA, MA or PhD in Library and Information Science.
