On May 22, Kim Chang Jong, a chief of the Daegu District Court gave a lecture in the audio-visual room of Hengso Museum. He visited Keimyung University to give some advice and information about laws to students who are in the Department of Law and the Department of Police Administration.

The theme of his lecture was 'The Era of Change : Including Citizens in the Judicial Process' and he explained civil participation in trials. Recently, the court system has adopted the Dreiinstanzen system to weigh offenses objectively and properly and provide a rational judicial system for citizens. In addition, courts are trying to communicate more clearly with citizens.

For example, courts now provide much more information about trials, like written judgments, to ensure people's right to know and enhance trust. The courts have increased opportunities for citizens to participate in trials and judicial administration too.

And members of the judicial system take part in business trips, training abroad and international trials to increase international exchange opportunities to keep pace with globalization. He had concluded the lecture with a summary of civil participation in trials and a question and answer session.
