On July 7, Dr. Synn Il-hi took office as the 12th president of Keimyung University. His term of office is four years until July 2024. The inauguration ceremony was held at Keimyung University, Adams Chapel and was attended by executives and professors from associated departments and organizations. Due to Covid19, the number of attendees was minimized and the event was broadcast live on SNS. In his inauguration speech, he announced that education at Keimyung should be itself that confirms the existence of mankind and the value of industrial productivity.
Sejong Books is a project to select and distribute outstanding books every year to increase the reading rate of the people. Keimyung University was recently reelected as the Daegu hub management agency by the Korean Immigration & Integration Program (KIIP) for 2020 until 2021 as organized by the Justice Ministry. The KIIP was first implemented in January 2010 as an education program for Korean language and for the understanding of Korean society in order to support settlement and adaptation by immigrants living in Korea. Students of Keimyung University had a meaningful time during December and January as they engaged in overseas volunteer work with four other countries that had all participated and/or supported the Korean War. Keimyung University’s Future Industry Usability Evaluation Center (Usability center) promoted win-win cooperation based on a usability evaluation through a symposium on December 12. The AW Hotel hosted the 2019 usability evaluation-based, industry-academic win-win cooperation symposium. On December 19th, 2019, Keimyung University was reaccredited as a Best-case University related to social responsibility. The accreditation process occurs every five years, and only three universities were accredited among all certified universities. The university accreditation process aims at ensuring and improving the quality of university education to educators every five years. Keimyung University, which was selected as an excellent example of a socially responsible university, organizes and operates voluntary sharing using the Keimyung 1% love share in 2004.
