On March 27, a freshman welcoming festival and the opening ceremony of the General Student Council were held both in Seoung-seo and Dae-myeong campuses. Starting with the introductory comments from the General Student Council, the evening continued with a live broadcast of "Byul Bam," a program on MBC Radio with performances by popular singers. On March 25, the Regular General Assembly was cut short because of the shortage of a quorum. Only eighty students came to the Regular General Assembly, even though the normal number of the quorum should be 1900. Hong Gyeong-dae, the chairman of the General Student Council, reported to the participants on doings during the vacation and the process of agreement on tuition fees and announced the closing of the meeting.

Freshmen festivals have continued since March 25. Kim Chang-hoon, the president of the General Student Council, said, "We had many activities like a public makeup demonstration, arm wrestling, and Coca Cola sampling party to overcome the alienation students in Dae-myeong campus feel. From now on, we will keep thinking of ways all Keimyung students can feel like one."
