On May 29, You Jae-sung, chief of Microsoft Korea, visited Lee Jin-woo, the president of Keimyung University. They signed an agreement to develop the next generation information environment and cultivate men of talent in the national IT field. This isMicrosoft's first academic-industrial agreement with a Korean university.

In 2004, Bill Gates, chief of Microsoft, stated that he sees the future of software computing in academic-industrial cooperation. As such he is trying to cultivate men of talent with many of the world's most famous universities. Ultimately, one of the merits to Keimyung University students is that they can enter multinational corporations.

Microsoft Korea is offering its Curriculum Resource Kit (CRK) to Keimyung University. They are also planning to offer MS operation system's main source and will provide research, classes, and consultation on this. In addition, Keimyung International College will offer a "Microsoft IT" major from the first semester of 2008, with 30 students to be enrolled in the first year. Keimyung University looks forward to a positive and intimate relationship with Microsoft.
