President Lee signed an agreement with the "Chinese Committee for the International Spread of the Chinese Language," part of the Chinese Education Ministry, to establish a Confucian Academy in Keimyung University. He also signed an agreement for joint operation of the academy while visiting Beijing Language and Culture University on April 25.
In the near future, our university and Beijing Language and Culture University will organize a council of 5 members and have a plate-hanging ceremony in the Keimyung China Center in June. The Confucian Academy plans to have Chinese education using multimedia, teacher training, and certification examinations like the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK).
In addition, Sìchuān University, which is directly attached to the Chinese Education Ministry and was established in the capital of Sìchuān Shěng (province), signed an agreement on mutual cooperation with our university on April 1. For this, a delegation including the President of Sìchuān University Sa Hwa-pyeong visited our university and met the Head of International Exchange Programs An Se-kyung and the President of the Keimyung College of Humanities Jo Soon-kyung.
Both universities wrote out a "Memorandum of Understanding" that included student and professor exchanges, jointly holding an international scholarly conference, exchanging scholarly treatise and works, and cooperation on educating students. The Universities will work out the details of a concrete agreement from May 7.
