Mexico’s national taekwondo team visited Keimyung University for training. The Taekwondo Center of Keimyung University was asked to train the team by the Mexican government. The team has 18 male and 7 female members made up of national, provincial, city, senior, and junior members. They trained with Keimyung taekwondo students at the amphitheater and the Taekwondo Center from January 7 to 28 while staying in Myunggyo dormitory. They train about 4 hours a day in Mexico, but they trained 8 hours a day at Keimyung University.

Borice, a member of Mexican national team, said, “Keimyung University's students have strong spiritual and physical strength. I learned Korean virtues and decorum through training. The Korean mind will influence my life.” Bang Yeong-seon, coach of Mexican team said, “This training will be a big help for us.” Cho Shung-ho, leader of training said, “I hope that our students will have great pride in taekwondo and become the best leaders in the world.”

This is not the first time that a foreign national team has visited our campus for taekwondo training. Martial artists from Canada, South Africa, France, and China have also trained in the Taekwondo Center. Jang Kyung-hun, a junior from the Department of Taekwondo, said, “We have different skin color and language, but we are friends with the same goal to be the best martial artists.”
