International Students Highlight Cultural Diversity at Keimyung Event

In November, Keimyung University cele brated its 125th anniversary by hosting an In ternational Student Traditional Costume Fashion Show at Keimyung Art Center. Organ ized by the International Affairs Center, the event aimed to promote cultural exchange through traditional attire from around the world. On November 13, 72 students from 29 coun tries, including Korea, Hungary, Japan, Egypt, and Ukraine, showcased their national cos tumes at the Keimyung Art Center. The event, attended by approximately 2,000 spectators, featured 35 traditional outfits, including Korea’s hanbok, Nepal’s Haku Patasi, Roma nia’s Costum Popular, and Malaysia’s Baju Ku rung. The show also included performances high lighting the unique traditions of various coun tries. Part 1 featured a Mongolian folk dance, a Vietnamese traditional dance, and a martial arts demonstration. Part 2 showcased a Chinese guqin performance and a Colombian traditional dance. Additional performances included Keimyung’s Taekwondo demonstration team, a traditional Korean dance by the Department of Dance, and K-pop dance acts by teams from China and Sri Lanka. Keimyung University President Synn Il-hi commented, “I hope many participating stu dents grow as global citizens by sharing diverse cultures.” Olga Ostrovska, a Ukrainian student at the Korean Language Institute, shared her thoughts on the event, saying, “It was a mean ingful time where traditions and cultures from all over the world coexisted.”
