On November 15, the 115th Keimyung Women’s Studies Seminar was held in the International Seminar Room in the College of Business. The topic for the seminar was “New Welfare Paradigm for Women’s Equal Labor Rights.” The main speaker was Professor Lee Joo-hee from Department of Sociology in Ehwa Womans University. The event was hosted by KMU’s Graduate School of Policy Studies, the Daegu Women and Family Foundation, and the Women’s Studies Center.


Professor Lee Joo-hee pointed out that we highly appreciate a wife and a mother’s labor in the family; however, companies don’t fully value their work, so women tend to get lower payments or are forced to quit when they get pregnant.
