The Korea Consumer Agency (KCA) is a Korean government agency which enforces consumer protection policies and regulations, supervises businesses and product testing, and responds to consumer complaints. The Gazette will look at the job of an office worker in the KCA.


Role

KCA office workers have a variety of duties. Their main duties are consumer counseling and informing consumers about their rights and KCA policies. They listen to consumer complaints and try to find solutions. They also examine the system for consumer rights and suggest improvements. They also communicate with the business sector. Sometimes, workers go to schools or public institutions and teach students and employees about consumer rights.


Qualifications

There are no specific qualifications to work in the KCA. However, you should have a college degree. You can also get extra points if you have a Korean history certificate. Usually, applicants must pass a formal employment examination. Candidates must submit a cover letter and a resume, take a job performance test, and have two interviews. You have an advantage with a MOS certificate. Applicants also require an English proficiency test score, for example, a minimum of 700 on TOEIC.


Prospects

The Korea Consumer Agency is an important institution which looks after consumer rights and interests. Nowadays, consumers are more aware of their rights and businesses must be more open. Therefore, the role of the KCA will increase.
