Special Lecture about Foreign Employment

On December 2nd in Smith Hall, there was a special lecture about foreign employment. The lecture focused on finding your dream overseas through a foreign internship or employment. Students from freshmen to senior attended the lecture with most of them coming from the College of International Studies.

The speaker explained that to obtain a U.S. work or internship visa a student’s major must be related to the job or internship. For example, a student majoring in automotive engineering can only get a job related to that major. Students in the College of International Studies who have language related majors like English can’t get these visas unless they have a second major like Tourism or Business.
He also said practical English speaking is more important than a high TOEIC score.
